What is Middlearch?

Middlearch started as a side project. It still is, technically.

The name comes from a structural concept – the middle arch, the part that holds the load without being the most visible. I like that idea. Most of the interesting work happens in the middle: between markets, between cultures, between what’s planned and what actually unfolds.

This is where I think out loud about that space.

What I write about?

Three things, mostly:
Business & markets:
I operate across energy, life sciences, and cross-border corridors between Vietnam, China, Eastern Europe, and occasionally further. I write about what I can see: deals, trends, and the gap between how things look on paper and how they actually move.
Opinions:
On technology, society, geopolitics. I try to have a view and say it clearly, while staying honest about what I don’t know.
Trails & racing:
I run ultras. Big part of my social non-social life. It’s not a metaphor, though sometimes it becomes one.

You might visit here because?

Well if you’re looking for polished content, a consistent posting schedule, or actionable growth tips… No no, this isn’t that! If you’re interested in how a nomad navigates building things across uncertain terrain, makes sense of complicated markets, and occasionally DNFs a race then tries to rationalize that, maybe, we’ll get along.

It’s TD and his playground.

Based in Saigon. Running companies by day, running trails on weekends. Middlearch is my thinking space — part research, part opinion, part race report. I write about business, technology, geopolitics, and the occasional existential crisis somewhere past the halfway mark of a 100km.
No particular schedule. Just things worth writing down.
